Senior Satellite Systems Engineer
Northern Italy
Hybrid working
A growing space engineering organisation is hiring a Senior Satellite Systems Engineer to support the development of satellite missions. The business operates an end-to-end engineering model, covering design, development, integration, verification, and operational support within one organisation.
You will join a systems team working on complex satellite programmes in a collaborative, engineering-led environment.
The role You will take system-level technical responsibility across satellite projects and support delivery from early definition through qualification.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning system-level engineering activities across the full project lifecycle
- Coordinating daily with programme leadership and subsystem engineering teams
- Producing system engineering, development, and verification plans
- Defining, managing, and validating technical requirements
- Leading preparation of technical documentation for internal and external reviews
- Reviewing system and subsystem technical documentation
- Supporting integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities
- Master s degree in Aerospace Engineering
- 5+ years experience in satellite or spacecraft systems engineering
- Strong team working and communication skills
- Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary and international teams
- Fluent in English and Italian
- Proven experience in satellite design, development, and qualification
- Strong understanding of satellite system architecture
- Experience managing industrial activities and formal technical reviews
- Knowledge of relevant aerospace standards such as ECSS, MIL, and NASA standards
- Exposure to ground segment or mission operations
- Experience using requirements management tools
- Work on technically challenging space programmes
