The Design Manager is responsible for leading the design function within a manufacturing environment, ensuring products are developed efficiently, compliantly and in line with customer and regulatory requirements. The role combines technical leadership, project oversight and cross-functional collaboration, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to production and ongoing improvement.

Role:

• Lead and manage the design team, providing technical direction, mentoring and workload planning
• Oversee product design activities from concept, development and validation through to manufacture
• Ensure designs meet functional, regulatory, quality and manufacturing requirements
• Maintain control of design standards, specifications and technical documentation
• Work closely with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and manufacturable
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and product change processes
• Develop and improve design processes, tools and systems
• Promote best practice, knowledge sharing and continuous professional development within the team

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a Design Manager or Senior Design Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of product development and design for manufacture
• Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven industries
• Competent in CAD and design management systems
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines

• A starting salary of 45'000 to 48'000
