We are partnering with a boarding school in Dunblane, Scotland, to recruit an experienced Boarding House Master/Mistress. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to join a 100% boarding environment, supporting the wellbeing and development of young people aged 11–18, all of whom are from military families.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong pastoral, welfare, boarding, or military backgrounds who thrive in a structured, community-focused environment.

The Role

As a Boarding House Master/Mistress, you will play a key role in the pastoral care, safeguarding, and daily life of students within the boarding house. You will work as part of a dedicated residential team ensuring students feel safe, supported, and able to flourish both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality pastoral care and support to students aged 11–18
  • Lead and supervise the smooth running of the boarding house
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and disciplined environment
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing standards at all times
  • Work collaboratively with academic, medical, and boarding staff
  • Support evening and weekend duties as part of the residential rota
  • Contribute to the wider life of a full-boarding school community

About You

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Previous boarding, pastoral, care, welfare, or military experience
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • The ability to thrive in a structured and community-focused setting
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Willingness to live on-site (subsidised accommodation provided)
