Position: Head of Year
Location: Tyttenhanger

We are seeking applications for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Year from well qualified and experienced teachers who are passionate about their subject (ideally business studies or economics) who will join a committed, collaborative and friendly team. Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

Personal Statement Questions
  • Do you have experience working in secondary education?
  • Do you have knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures in schools?
  • Able to work collaboratively with other adults, contributing to a solution focussed approach, triangulating data from a range of sources (e.g. assessment, observation, pupil voice) in order to review and inform future priorities
  • Are you skilled at making and sustaining positive relationships with young people and their families?
  • Do you have experience in working with pupils with SEND?
  • Do you have any experience working with school systems, eg Class Charts, and Arbor?
  • Do you have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing?
  • What subjects have you previously taught and to what Key Stage?
  • Are you able to teach to A-level?
  • Please tell us why you feel you are the best candidate for this role.
