History Teacher

Location: Sherburn
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: February 2026

GSL Education are looking for a passionate History Teacher to join a secondary school in the Sherburn area. This role is ideal for a teacher who can bring historical topics to life and encourage critical thinking.

The school values broad curriculum knowledge and encourages debate and discussion in lessons. The Humanities department is supportive and focused on delivering engaging and inclusive learning experiences.

Teach History across KS3 and KS4

Plan engaging lessons linked to the national curriculum

Prepare pupils for GCSE assessments

Encourage analytical and evaluative skills

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and progress

QTS with History specialism

Secondary teaching experience

Strong subject knowledge

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
