Are you ready to change the narrative for a young person? We are looking for dedicated educators in St Helens to provide 1:1 support for children and young people currently outside of mainstream education. This role is about more than just tutoring; it’s about rebuilding confidence, sparking curiosity, and providing a stable path back to learning.
Whether you’re supporting a primary pupil with literacy or a secondary student preparing for exams, your goal is the same:
making education accessible for everyone.
As a 1:1 Tutor, you will deliver bespoke learning sessions tailored to the individual. You will work with a diverse range of learners, including those in Primary and Secondary phases, Looked After Children (LAC) and pupils who require extra emotional or academic support.
- Personalised Teaching: Deliver English, Maths, or Science (KS2 KS4) in a way that resonates with the student.
- Bridge the Gap: Support learners—including those with SEND, SEMH, or simply those facing barriers to learning—to re-engage with education.
- Build Trust: Develop strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families.
- Create Success: Set a pace that works for the child, helping them transition back into school or structured environments.
- Competitive Pay: £25 - £28 per hour.
- True Flexibility: You choose the assignments and hours that fit your lifestyle.
- Local Work: Placements available right in your community.
- Fast-Track Start: Quick registration and immediate interview turnarounds.
- Supportive Partnership: Your own dedicated consultant and access to ongoing CPD.
- Subject Confidence: Strong knowledge in Maths, English, or Science.
- Experience: At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience (QTS/PGCE is a plus, but we also welcome HLTAs and experienced Mentors).
- Empathy: A patient, adaptable approach to learning.
- Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
