Job Title:
Teaching Assistant - Social and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties Specialist

Location:
Liverpool

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work within a special school in Liverpool, supporting learners with Social and Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with SEMH, EBD, or challenging behaviour and experience working in SEN environments. Knowledge of outdoor education is highly desirable, as it is a core aspect of the school's approach.

This Teaching Assistant role offers a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, providing excellent opportunities to develop your skills within a supportive educational setting. The position is suitable for professionals with at least three months' experience working with learners with social and emotional difficulties, and candidates must hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities include supporting and supervising learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD, or challenging behaviour, assisting in outdoor education activities, helping children at the start and end of the school day, and working alongside classroom staff to prepare lessons and create a nurturing environment. The role involves working in small groups and providing one-to-one support to children with additional needs, in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies.

Candidates should have experience in supporting learners with social and emotional difficulties, be committed to safeguarding, and demonstrate flexibility in working across different educational sectors such as primary, secondary, SEN, nursery, or further education. Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for outdoor education will be beneficial for success in this role.

This Teaching Assistant position provides weekly pay, holiday pay options, pension contributions, and a range of additional benefits including free training, flexible hours, and ongoing support from education specialists. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling learners to achieve their potential through tailored support and outdoor learning initiatives.
