Location: Shuttleworth College – Old Warden

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:

We are currently seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As an EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Lead EHCP Reviews – Organise and conduct annual and termly reviews, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements using a person-centred approach.
  • Support Student Transition & Progression – Facilitate pre-entry visits, mentor students, and promote progression opportunities aligned with aspirations.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Teams – Share EHCP outcomes, raise staff awareness through training, and monitor achievement towards programme and EHCP goals.
  • Ensure Effective Support & Monitoring – Observe classroom practice, review support utilisation, and feed into performance monitoring and self-assessment processes.
  • Promote College Standards & Development – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety policies, participate in marketing events, and engage in ongoing training and CPD.

About you:

  • Qualifications – A Levels or equivalent, GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C), graduate or vocational training in Education, Health, or Social Sciences.
  • Knowledge – SEND Code of Practice 2014, safeguarding, equality and diversity, confidentiality, post-16 education, current FE developments, health and safety.
  • Experience – Working with young people with SEND/EHCP, leading meetings with stakeholders, EHCP annual reviews, further education settings, teamwork, and IT systems.
  • Skills – Strong communication (written, verbal), report writing, organisation, prioritisation, IT proficiency (Microsoft Office), ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Values & Attributes – Student-focused, high performance, respect, openness, honesty; flexible approach, willingness to travel, maintain professional boundaries, and continuously update skills.
