SEN Teaching Assistant Chichester

Location: Chichester

Pay: £85 £ 100 per day (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm

Contract Type: Full Time

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Ongoing (Temporary contract with potential to extend)

A supportive and inclusive school in Chichester is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), communication difficulties and learning needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Assisting with learning activities planned by the class teacher
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and engagement
  • Contributing to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams

What We re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or transferable)
  • Experience with SEN or SEMH is desirable but not essential
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to follow guidance while using initiative when needed
  • A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable learners
