Are you a calm, confident and resilient individual looking to make a real difference in children's lives?
We're looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working closely with children across the school who present with challenging behaviour linked to emotional difficulties. You'll take responsibility for supporting identified pupils who require more targeted 1:1 intervention, tracking their progress, helping them develop self-regulation strategies, and working towards positive behavioural outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs across different year groups
Implementing strategies for behaviour management and emotional regulation
Delivering 1:1 and small group sessions tailored to individual needs
Monitoring, tracking and reporting on behavioural and emotional progress
Collaborating with the SENCO and wider pastoral team to shape support plans
We're Looking For Someone That Has:
Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour (primary or secondary welcome)
A calm, patient and consistent approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Confidence contributing to and working with Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
Ability to use ABC charts, tracking tools or pastoral logs to monitor behaviour and identify patterns
Understanding of restorative practices, de-escalation techniques, and SEMH interventions suited to a primary setting
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
