Are you passionate about supporting young children with additional needs at the very start of their learning journey?

Academics, a trusted national education recruitment agency with strong local roots, is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Aston, Birmingham. The school is seeking a nurturing and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within their SEND Hub.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who are:

• Non-verbal

• Experiencing developmental delay

• Working at approximately 12-18 months developmental level

• Aged from Reception to KS1

Support is delivered through:

• Play-based learning

• Early Years (EY) approaches

• Use of Makaton and some BSL to support communication

Two members of staff complete personal care within the setting. While personal care is not essential, a willingness to support when needed would be highly welcomed.

• Experience supporting children with SEND, Early Years, ASD as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

• A genuine passion for inclusive education and early intervention.

• Reliability and the ability to travel to Aston, Birmingham.
