English Teacher

Location: Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January/February 2026

GSL Education are recruiting a passionate English Teacher for a secondary school in the Boroughbridge area. You will deliver engaging lessons that inspire pupils and help them develop strong communication and analytical skills.

This mixed secondary setting serves pupils aged 11–16 from Boroughbridge and surrounding villages. The school places strong emphasis on inclusive teaching, academic progress and preparing learners for future pathways.

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4

Help pupils build confidence in reading, writing and discussion

Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with English specialism

Experience teaching secondary English

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
