As a Motor Vehicle Skills Trainer, you’ll deliver hands-on, high-quality training to Army personnel. This role goes beyond teaching — it’s an opportunity to shape the future of military engineering by sharing your technical expertise, building learners’ skills, confidence, and knowledge, and inspiring them to succeed.

• Develop lesson plans, training aids, and assessments to support effective learning
• Monitor learner progress, providing feedback and additional support as required
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve training delivery
• Maintain your own CPD to ensure training content remains current and industry-aligned
• Deliver all apprenticeship elements in line with Ofsted, ESFA, and awarding body standards
• Plan and deliver workshops to develop essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours
• Inspire, motivate, and support learners to achieve their full potential
• Build and maintain strong relationships with learners, colleagues, and wider stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
Essential
Skills & Experience:
• Strong workshop experience with diagnostic skills in light vehicles or HGVs
• Passion for teaching, learning, and assessment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching and development
• Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
Desirable:
• Experience with military vehicles or in a military training environment
• Knowledge of apprenticeships or government-funded training programmes
Qualifications
Required:
• Teaching qualification highly desirable; however the organisation offers a fully funded Level 4 Teaching Qualification
• GCSE Maths & English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanics
Security Requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
