Relief Support for Learning Assistant, Uist & Barra (3100)
£15.45 per hour, inclusive of £1.55 per hour Distant Islands Allowance

This post provides support for children with additional support needs.

Duties include:

working in mainstream classes, assisting pupils with school work, under the direction of class teacher; supervision of children at intervals and lunch breaks; assisting in the management of children and young people with behavioural difficulties.

You must have: experience of working with children, as a parent or in a voluntary or professional capacity; an understanding of the basic needs of children; the ability to co-operate with others and work effectively as a member of a team; a patient, cheerful personality with a flexible, open and caring approach.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).

This post is on an as and when basis to cover absences of permanent staff. Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
