Located in Presteigne, our school offers a truly unique learning environment, set within 18 acres of fields, woodlands, a stream, lake, swimming pool, and sports hall. Children with autism and complex needs are supported to feel safe, respected, and inspired. As part of our team, you will play a key role in providing engaging learning opportunities both inside the classroom and outdoors, helping students to achieve their full potential and build lasting memories.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be:
- A SEN Superstar:
Champion bespoke learning strategies tailored to pupil needs. - A Resilience Rock:
Use your confidence and positivity to inspire students. - A Creative Collaborator:
Support teachers with lesson planning, activities, and assessments. - An Empathy Expert:
Work patiently with small groups of pupils with complex needs. - A Relationship Guru:
Build strong connections with pupils, families, and colleagues. - A Positive Vibe Promoter:
Encourage positive behaviour and a supportive atmosphere. - An Independent Innovator:
Use creativity to bring learning to life. - An Avid Adventurer:
Help organise fun off‑site activities. - A Care Champion:
Support pupils with routines, breaks, and personal care when needed.
- At least 12 months’ experience in a similar role.
- A qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent).
- GCSEs in English and Maths.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication.
- Enrolment requires an Enhanced DBS Check, including a Barred List Check.
