£89.05 - £96.50 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children to manage their behaviour and succeed in school? Supply Desk are seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant – SEN to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Brighton area that we work closely with. This role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs who present challenging behaviours linked to conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or trauma-related needs.

You’ll provide consistent, structured support to help pupils regulate emotions, engage positively with learning, and develop coping strategies that promote long-term success. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, you’ll help implement behaviour support plans, de-escalation strategies, and clear routines within both classroom and intervention settings.

Key

Skills & Experience:

Experience or a strong interest in supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEN, including SEMH, ASD, or ADHD.
Understanding of behaviour support strategies, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour management.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond confidently to dysregulated behaviour.
A patient, consistent, and empathetic approach, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Requirements:

References covering the past 2 years.
An Enhanced DBS Check on the update service (or willingness to apply – we can support you).
6 months of previous experience working with children preferred.
