Salary: MPS-UPS / Competitive daily rate (dependent on role and experience)

Role

Purpose:

To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching to secondary school students in Tunbridge Wells, promoting strong numeracy skills, problem-solving ability, and a positive attitude towards Maths.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach across KS3 and KS4 (with opportunities at KS5 where applicable)
Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and school activities
Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance
Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

Person Specification:

Essential:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering the Maths curriculum
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

Desirable:

Experience teaching GCSE Maths
Ability to teach A-Level Maths
Experience working in UK secondary schools
Flexibility and adaptability to different school environments
