    Knowledge of School Governing Body organisation.

Job Description

Purpose:

Provide clerical support to the School Governing Board and administer the board’s work in accordance with guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Chairperson and Head Teacher to prepare meeting agendas and background papers at least five working days before meetings.
  • Send agendas and minutes to governing body members in a timely manner.
  • Attend full governing body meetings and statutory sub‑committees (up to six meetings annually) and take minutes.
  • Maintain accurate records of minutes, attendance and training certificates.
  • Correspond on behalf of the governing body as required.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual report to parents and evidence for quality awards.
  • Attend mandatory training courses for governors' clerks and keep attendance records.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, equal opportunities, data protection and council policies.
Special Circumstances and Hours

Unsociable hours required; meet the minimum of six meetings per year with opportunity for overtime on extra meetings.
