Head Teacher – East Ayrshire Council
Location: St Sophia's Primary School, Galston
Job DescriptionManage and lead the educational establishment(s) to the benefit of children and the wider community in compliance with relevant legislation, policy, and guidance issued by the Scottish Government and East Ayrshire Council. Assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of the Council's key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement, Children and Young Person's Service Plan, and Best Value.
RequirementsThis post requires a Catholic Teaching Certificate and RC approval at Head Teacher level. The duties involve regulated work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of regulated work with either or both groups as appropriate, or if already a Scheme member, to complete a PVG Scheme Record Update before any formal offer of employment.

PVG members’ records are constantly updated with any new vetting information. Any information disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update that is relevant to the post will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer.
Follow national guidance on pre‑employment checks – "Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment". During the application process, provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from the current or most recent employer and must be from an appropriate senior manager. The reference from the current or most recent employer should not be from a former peer operating at the same level.

This is a permanent, full‑time post based within St Sophia's Primary School, Galston.
Hours:
