About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our supportive mainstream primary school. This role is primarily school-based but includes a small number of home tuition hours to support a child in Year 2 who is currently unable to attend school full-time.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with additional needs, working closely with school staff, families and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, personalised teaching for pupils with special educational needs
Provide individualised home tuition for a Year 2 pupil, ensuring continuity with school-based learning
Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning, emotional and developmental needs
Monitor progress and contribute to SEN reviews, reports and targets
Work collaboratively with the SENCo, class teachers, parents/carers and external agencies
Create a nurturing, structured and safe learning environment, both in school and during home visits
Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally within a mainstream primary setting
Confidence in delivering 1:1 or small-group teaching, including in a home setting
Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive practice
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A flexible, empathetic and child-centred approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
