Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Special Interest in FDS

Overview

The aim is to appoint a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in faster diagnostic services and gynaecological oncology to join the established team at University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex). We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic colleague who will contribute towards the development of the gynaecological oncology faster diagnostic service over the next decade and beyond.

• Provide expert obstetric and gynaecological care, including management of complex general and obstetric/gynaecological emergencies.
• Lead and contribute to the development of the gynaecological oncology faster diagnostic service.
• Assist with or perform laparoscopic and open abdominal surgery where appropriate.
• Engage in ultrasound scanning, colposcopy and hysteroscopy as applicable to the role.
• Contribute to service development and quality & safety initiatives as desirable.

• Experience in managing complex and general gynaecological conditions, including complex obstetric and gynaecological emergencies.
• Experience in laparoscopic and open abdominal surgery is expected; ultrasound scanning, colposcopy and hysteroscopy are desirable.
• Previous involvement in service development and quality & safety initiatives is desirable.
