📍 On the M40 near High Wycombe - suitable for doctors in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire or West London

To cut to the chase.

We’re looking for an early-stage, enthusiastic doctor who may have stepped outside the traditional NHS training route and is now building something of their own - perhaps a startup, digital health project, or portfolio career - and is looking for flexible clinical work alongside it.

At 222 Healthcare, our private GP clinic in Buckinghamshire, we occasionally need additional clinical support as our membership base continues to grow.

About the role

We are a team of two married doctors who founded and run the practice together.

Over the past few years we have successfully transitioned to build a membership-based model of care, and we are now reaching a stage of growth where we need occasional clinical support when we are not on site, helping to look after our growing membership base.

Our GPs remain the primary clinicians responsible for members’ care.

Your role would be to support the practice when an in-person assessment is needed, with an immediate debrief to the patient’s usual GP by phone so that they can guide the next stage of the treatment plan.

This allows us to maintain continuity of care, while ensuring patients can still be seen promptly when needed.

The role is varied

Because we are a small team, the work can involve more than just consulting.

You may find yourself involved in:

  • Primary care consultations
  • Providing clinical cover when we are off site (with remote discussion when needed)
  • Vaccinations or procedures when our nurse is away
  • Helping with admin when we’re short staffed
  • Occasionally supporting business development or marketing initiatives

In short, you will see how the whole practice operates, not just the consulting room.

Why we created this role

There are two main reasons.

Firstly, our patients join because they want one of us to be their GP, and we remain closely involved in their care. However, there are times when we simply cannot be physically present in the clinic.

As the practice grows, and with normal realities such as holidays, conferences, and occasional time away, we need skilled clinical support to ensure patients can still be seen promptly when needed.

In these situations you would see the patient in person, with an immediate phone debrief to their usual GP, who then guides the next stage of the treatment plan.

This allows us to maintain continuity of care, while ensuring members still have timely access to in-person assessment.

Secondly, we’ve done similar roles ourselves.

At points in our careers we stepped outside the traditional NHS GP pathway while building new projects. Flexible clinical work like this was a lifeline financially, and even more valuable when it came in a setting where we could learn from the people running the business.

Those experiences were hugely valuable to us, which is why we’ve designed this role in a similar spirit.

About us

222 Healthcare is an independent private GP practice based in Stokenchurch with a small branch in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, just off the M40 near High Wycombe.

Founded by his and and wife GPs Dr Oliver Large and Dr Shanika Attale, the practice was built around a simple idea:

Healthcare works best when patients have a doctor who knows them.

Over the past four and a half years, we have grown from a small startup into a 5-star rated private GP service (330 5
* reviews (average 4.97) and counting) with a steadily growing membership base.

  • Membership-based primary care
  • Travel medicine and vaccinations
  • Corporate and executive health checks

Behind the scenes, we continue to experiment with new ways of delivering relationship-based primary care.

Who this might suit

A doctor who:

  • Has stepped outside the traditional ST training route
  • Is building something entrepreneurial
  • Wants flexible work alongside another project
  • Is curious about how healthcare businesses actually operate
  • Enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team
