Fawkes & Reece are recruiting an experienced Groundworks Supervisor with a strong Utilities background for an active site in Cardiff.

My client is a highly reputable , professional groundworks contractor working with telecoms and internet providers delivers reliable, high-quality civil engineering services to support the installation and maintenance of telecoms infrastructure. From trenching and ducting to reinstatement and site preparation, they operate to strict safety, quality, and compliance standards, ensuring minimal disruption to the public and surrounding environments. With experience coordinating alongside telecoms engineers and local authorities, the contractor plays a key role in keeping projects on schedule while maintaining durable, long-lasting groundwork solutions that support fast and dependable connectivity.

This role suits a hands-on supervisor confident managing utility works, groundworks gangs, and subcontractors while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising groundworks and utility works on site

• Managing operatives and subcontractors

• Ensuring all works comply with H&S regulations, RAMS, and permits

• Overseeing excavation and service installation works

• Coordinating with site management and engineers

• Monitoring progress, quality, and productivity

• Completing daily site reports

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Supervisor in Utilities

• Strong background in utilities (drainage, ducting, services, excavations)

• SSSTS

• CSCS card

• Good communication and leadership skills
