Location: Stalham
Healthcare and Community Construction (HCC) are looking for a Post-graduate or Assistant QS to join our growing team. You will be based in Norfolk at one of our sites, which are currently located in Kings Lynn and Stalham. You will report to and work alongside our Senior Quantity Surveyor and one of the company's directors. This will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn from your colleagues' years of experience and gain valuable insights into key decision-making and how the company operates.
This site-based role will also mean that you benefit from wider exposure than usual and can interact with the wider construction team, which will undoubtedly assist in your career progression and help you develop and grow to become a Quantity Surveyor. HCC specialise in Affordable Housing and Primary Care Development and currently has 138 Independent Living Extra Care units on-site and by Spring will have a further 34 General Needs affordable houses on-site.
These projects are expected to finish between 2027 and 2028, and our future pipeline of work is growing.
Key responsibilities:
1.Producing accurate cost reports and valuations.
2.Preparing cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
3.Managing variations.
4.Attending site visits and project meetings.
5.Subcontractor appraisal and negotiation
6.Working with project and site managers to collate cost and warranty information
7.Drafting and administering subcontracts (JCT) and purchase orders.
8.Measurement and take-offs from drawings and site surveys Ideal candidate experience and skills:
Site experience. JCT experience. Affordable Housing experience. Commercially astute and detail driven. Clear communicator. Excellent use of Microsoft applications, including Word/Excel, and Outlook. Your salary will be commensurate with your experience and will be between £33,000 and £45,000. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
