Team Overview:

Responsible for cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration, the team works closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients to monitor budgets, mitigate risk, and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations — safeguarding both client satisfaction and company profitability.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor Placement Student to support the commercial and financial management of construction projects by assisting with cost control, valuations, subcontractor payments, contract administration, and maintaining strong working relationships to help ensure successful project delivery.

Responsible to | Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Placement Quantity Surveyor supports the successful financial delivery of projects by assisting with cost control, monthly valuations, variations and change orders, while contributing to job costing reviews and final accounts. The role involves supporting the commercial management of projects by liaising with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams, preparing and processing valuations and payments, and ensuring documentation and correspondence are completed accurately and on time.

The Placement Quantity Surveyor also assists with contract reviews, subcontractor engagement and negotiations, preparation of subcontract documents, and provides commercial support and advice to Project Managers, Senior Quantity Surveyors, and senior management as required.
