Preconstruction Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a growing main contractor that work on residential projects. The role will involve supporting the commercial team on projects during the preconstruction stage.

Ideal candidate:

• Strong numeracy, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
• A proactive, detail-focused approach with a willingness to learn.

Duties include:

• Assist senior management in the commercial evaluation of pre-construction projects.
• Support the preparation of tender submissions, cost plans, budgets, and feasibility assessments.
• Contribute to procurement activities, including supplier enquiries, comparisons, and package analysis.
• Help manage project documentation, risk registers, and commercial reporting.
• Coordinate with design, planning, and delivery teams to gather information during pre-construction.
• Participate in interface meetings with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
• Provide administrative and analytical support to ensure projects progress through early-stage gateways.
• Maintain accurate commercial data and assist with the preparation of presentations and reports for senior leadership.
