Job role: Registered Manager - Children and Young People

Location: Cumbria

Salary: upto £53,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to develop and nurture a residential home for children and young people in the Cumbria area. The home is well established and provides excellent outcomes for the children who are well established in their routines. The home has excellent staffing levels. This role will involve leading and inspiring your own team to ensure the children living in the home receive outstanding care, have great role models, and a safe place to thrive.

You will join a leading provider of high-quality children's care and education. They are an outstanding rated provider offering long-term homes, short-breaks, learning disability services, activity-based response services and children's education.

As the Registered Manager you will be at the heart of a dynamic residential team, creating a safe, supportive space where young people can thrive. Your work will empower young people, strengthen relationships, and lay foundations for long-term stability and positive change. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care and support in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will lead and support a team to deliver outstanding care that promotes stability, growth, independence and positive outcomes.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of the home, leading by example. You will be part of the leadership team, supervising care and providing young people with the support they need to thrive. You will ensure the home complies with all legislation, including children’s homes regulations, quality standards and policies. You will manage the home’s budgets, resources and environment.

You will drive continuous improvement and ensure the home’s statement of purpose is fulfilled.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Hold at least 2 years' experience in children's residential care management.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children's and Young People’s Workforce.
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Children's Services.
  • A strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to providing a nurturing and empowering environment.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
