Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for an Early Years Senior Practitioner to act as a member of the Early Learning and Childcare team, with full involvement in the Early Level curriculum and, where appropriate, the pre-Birth to Three Framework, helping to contribute to the care and education of children. This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post and a peripatetic position, overseeing two ELC settings based at Fettercairn and Auchenblae School Nurseries;

you may also be required to work elsewhere within the Laurencekirk CSN.

The successful candidate will be employed on a 45.04 week per year contract. This position is subject to Local Government terms and conditions and is a fixed‑term role until 22/12/2026.

• Regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; the preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
• For individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required and must be provided.
• The post requires obtaining SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
• Minimum requirement of 2 references, one of which must be from the current or most recent employer.
