Residential Child Care Worker – Pebbles Care

This role offers a base pay range of £34,719.00 to £36,248.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience – talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 support to children and young people aged 8–18, working one‑to‑one or two‑to‑one in a full‑time role averaging 56.4 hours per week, including sleep hours.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as driving, food preparation, household chores, and planning outings and holidays.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, attend induction and ongoing training, and obtain a Level 3 SVQ/NVQ qualification in Residential Child Care (funded by the company).
  • Support other homes in the same geographical area as required.

  • Full‑time rota: one day on (24 hours, including sleepover) and two days off (48 hours).

Essential Qualities
  • Dedication to safeguarding children.
  • Desire to obtain further qualifications and personal development.

  • Patience and ability to build non‑judgemental relationships.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Valid full UK manual driving licence.
Desirable Qualities
  • Up to 12 months experience with children or young adults (more than 12 months may qualify for higher salary levels).
  • Working towards or desire to obtain SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma relevant to residential workforce.
  • Familiarity with Codes of Practice and regulatory bodies.
  • Existing PVG/DBS certificate.
