Support for Learning Assistant (Gaelic: Neach-cuideachaidh Taic do Ionnsachadh)

Salary: £14,922 – £15,491 per annum inclusive of £1,500 Distant Islands Allowance.

Hours:

22 hours per week, term time, fixed term to 26/06/2026.

• Assist teaching staff to meet education, personal care and welfare needs for children and young people with additional support needs (ASN).
• Undertake playground and lunchtime supervision.
• Support inclusion of all pupils in the setting.
• Support health and well-being and follow the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.

• Experience of working with children in a voluntary, professional or parental capacity.
• Understanding of the basic needs of children.
• Ability to co-operate with others and work effectively as a member of a team.
• Patient, cheerful personality with a flexible, open and caring approach.
• Fluency in Gaelic essential.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is a legal requirement for this regulated role.
