Indirect Buyer

Reports to: Sr. Procurement Manager, Indirect

This is an office-based role. Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00. Hybrid options are not available. You might be required to travel as needed for business specific activities.

Under direct leadership, the Indirect Buyer will be responsible for purchasing materials used in the production process, supplies, equipment and outside services the company needs to complete essential business functions. Tracking and accelerating these materials and service requirements to support production of Singer’s vehicles is vital in this role to ensure the timely completion of projects. They are responsible for sourcing and qualifying vendors, negotiating pricing, and placing purchase orders to fulfil demand.

The goal is to ensure constant availability of non‑inventory goods and/or services within the company’s budget in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

• Procures goods and services for the company.
• Evaluates price, reliability, quality, technical support and availability of goods and services.
• Generates Purchase Orders with suppliers.
• Accountable for on‑time delivery of purchased material at (or below) planned costs
• Negotiates pricing with vendors to reduce total cost
• Manages suppliers for cost, quality and delivery
• Identifies constraints that may impact production schedules.
• Works in a cross‑functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company‑wide goals
• Familiarity with the procure‑to‑pay process.
• Provides support to engineering team with processing RFQ’s for design and development projects over a variety of programs.
• Knowledgeable in comprehending MSA’s, NDA’s, terms & conditions and various contracts.
• Interacts with a variety of stakeholders in the organization to ensure compliance with indirect processes and onboarding procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, supply chain or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 3–4 years in a similar role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• CIPS qualified or working towards, or equivalent indirect procurement management qualification
• Proven experience in indirect procurement, in professional services, marketing, or technical /manufacturing environments
• Experience in a fast‑paced or high‑growth environment
