Overview
The role of Purchasing Officer will work within our ever-growing Supply Chain and will be responsible for material control across our multi-disciplinary Manufacturing site. You will need to have strong communication skills ensuring the best customer service is upheld when managing our suppliers day-to-day. As the Purchasing Officer you will be instrumental in supporting the development of other key team players within our team along with across site through innovating projects.
In this role, you will be required to work under pressure using your initiative to analyse and resolve complex problems.
- Day to Day Vendor Management.
- Managing all procurement activities such as MRP placing and rescheduling parts and cancellations of orders.
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in an organised manner.
- Review inventories and order as required.
- Review deliveries against the orders, including on time in full reporting.
- Track the status of any orders.
- Be responsible for non-supplied orders, under orders, over orders and damaged goods.
- Ensure that any queries are reconciled, and invoices are sent to accounts for payment.
- Ensure a strong standard of organisation is upheld with PO's/ acknowledgements.
- Producing and maintaining applicable reports.
- Coach and develop other team players.
- Process improvements activities.
- Elements of negotiating with suppliers.
- Elements of cost management.
- Leading and managing projects to improve departments KPI (key performance indicators).
- Planning and organising to ensure timescales and deadlines are met.
- A dedicated, loyal team player with the ability to communicate to all levels of the business through multiple channels, including presentations where necessary.
- Excellent time management disciplines whilst also maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude towards meeting deadlines.
- Highly organised, remaining calm under-pressure with the ability to multi-task and deliver.
- Self-motivated and strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work autonomously when required.
- Previous experience or knowledge in Logistics and Procurement
- Computer literacy (Excel and PowerPoint application skills are required)
- Understanding of Oracle
- Planning Experience
- Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a busy work environment
