We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing construction business for a Procurement Manager to take full ownership of procurement across materials, plant, goods and services. This is a key commercial leadership role, working closely with the Commercial, Pre-Construction and Project teams to ensure procurement activity supports profitability, programme delivery and strategic business objectives.
The role offers real influence across the supply chain, with responsibility for driving value through strategic sourcing, cost assurance, innovation and proactive risk management.
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end procurement across multiple projects, ensuring best value, compliance, and continuity of supply.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies for construction materials, plant and services
- Leading supplier selection, negotiation, performance management and compliance
- Driving cost control, value engineering and rebate agreements
- Supporting commercial forecasting, reporting and cost analysis
- Managing procurement-related risk across the supply chain
- Working closely with Commercial, Pre-Construction, Operations and Site teams
- Overseeing procurement systems and data integrity
- Ensuring governance, audit readiness and ISO/SHEQ compliance
- Managing labour agency relationships and subcontractor procurement compliance
You will already have:
- Proven experience in a Procurement Manager / Senior Buyer / Lead Procurement role within construction
- A strong track record managing procurement across multiple live projects
- Solid understanding of construction materials, contracts and supply chain performance
- Experience supporting commercial reporting, cost control and forecasting
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- High attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
- Confidence operating within governance frameworks and approval limits
It would be advantageous if you have:
- CIPS or equivalent procurement qualification
- Experience negotiating framework agreements and supplier rebates
- Knowledge of construction contracts (NEC, JCT)
- Experience supporting ISO audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with Evolution M or similar ERP/procurement systems
