We are seeking a Receptionist/Administrator to work at Nayland Surgery, part of Creffield Medical Group. You will work 30-37 hours per week between the hours of 8am - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday - the hours will be worked over 4 days.
General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job- Greeting and directing all patients.
- Making appointments.
- Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
- Advising patients of practice procedures.
- Registering new patients.
- Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning.
Nayland Surgery is part of Creffield Medical Group which was formed in June 2017.
Colchester is a historic, vibrant town with quick road and rail links to London Liverpool Street. It houses one of Europe's finest zoos, a Norman Castle, beautifully maintained parks, an active theatre scene and new modern art gallery. The local grammar schools are amongst the best in the country and the local area is surrounded by beautiful countryside including Constable country in nearby Dedham.
Mersea Island, Wivenhoe and Brightlingsea offer excellent oysters, beaches and sailing within a short drive.

Person Specification Experience- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
- Full training will be given but experience in the NHS or general practice is desirable.
