Location: City

The post holder will work flexibly to respond to the changing demands of the Health and Safety Office. Responsibilities will include supporting the Health & Safety Office to facilitate meetings, organise training, maintain databases, and update web and intranet pages.

  • Maintain the Health & Safety Office email inbox, logging information, dealing with low-level issues and ensuring effective follow up actions.
  • Record information on the Accident, Incident and Near Misses database, ensuring timely updates, data accuracy and effective sharing of key information with the Health & Safety Office.
  • Administering invoices
  • Support in the administration of the health and safety policies, procedures, codes of practice and guidance documents.
  • Manage administrative arrangements for first aiders and fire marshals, and work with external advisers to support best practice in fire safety and first aid provision.
  • Maintain and accurately record training records and administer the e-learning software (iHASCO).
  • Update the health and safety website and intranet pages.
  • Provide administrative support for both the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee and the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Operational Group, including arranging meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes, and monitoring and tracking actions.
  • Support the diary management of the Health & Safety Office.
  • Support the Health & Safety Office in championing wellbeing across the University, including assisting with campaigns and the production of associated communications and information.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture by supporting staff, students and others on health, safety and wellbeing matters.
  • Provide administrative cover for the other areas of the Governance & Compliance team.
