Salary 39,631 + a completion bonus
35 hour week; fully office based, flexibility when not in term.
We are delighted to have partnered with a prestigious, independent school based in Leeds. We are recruiting for a Personal Assistant to the Principal. This key role provides high-level secretarial and administrative support, requiring discretion, efficiency and excellent organisational skills.
This is maternity contract for 1 2months. The postholder will play a central role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Principal's office, while contributing to a high-quality administrative service for pupils, parents and staff across the school. The role demands confidentiality, sound judgement and the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.

- Key Duties and responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for the Principal, managing communications with parents, pupils, staff, visitors and external organisations.
- Manage and maintain the Principal's diary and email inbox, prioritising commitments and making independent decisions where appropriate.
- Draft, prepare and process correspondence, including letters, emails and reports.
- Prepare papers, presentations and documentation for meetings, including governance and staff training.
- Assist with expenses and undertake general office administration.
- Work collaboratively with the wider administrative and support teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality service.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
- Support effective communication with parents and colleagues in line with strategic objectives.
- Provide holiday cover for colleagues when required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C/5 or above (or equivalent).
- Advanced shorthand and typing qualifications (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- Significant experience providing PA or senior administrative support at a senior level within a complex organisation.
- Experience in an educational environment is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent IT skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
