We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school. This is an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teacher who is committed to inclusive practice and making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will work with pupils aged 9-16 who present with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The SEN Teacher will deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching in a small-class environment, supporting pupils to achieve both academically and emotionally.

The successful SEN Teacher will be resilient, reflective and highly motivated, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to learning.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher

Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons as an SEN Teacher to meet individual pupil needs.
Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with EHCPs and complex needs.
Track, assess and report on pupil progress as part of the SEN Teacher role.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENCo, leadership staff and external professionals.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent, supportive strategies.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a safe learning environment.

About You - SEN Teacher

We are looking for an SEN Teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Has experience working with pupils with SEN, or a strong desire to develop as an SEN Teacher.
Demonstrates patience, empathy and adaptability.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Is committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
Understands (or is keen to learn about) SEMH and trauma-informed practice.

Experience in a specialist or alternative provision is desirable but not essential for the right SEN Teacher.
