About The Role
Red Hat’s Air Force/Space Force Enterprise Sales team is looking for a Strategic Account Manager to join our Public Sector Defense business unit. In this role, you will expand Red Hat’s existing customer base, sell cutting edge Red Hat solutions and encourage the fast adoption of the Red Hat portfolio of offerings. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will work closely with a cross‑functional team of pre‑sales resources, product engineering, professional services, and product support teams to ensure an excellent customer experience with Red Hat’s offerings.
Successful applicants must be able to travel to customer sites such as Scott Air Force Base, IL;
Offutt Air Force, NE; and Patrick AFB, FL.
- Sell the complete Red Hat solutions portfolio, including Red Hat Linux, Open Shift, Ansible and professional services & training
- Work closely with a cross‑functional team to identify key projects, programmes and customers to sell Red Hat’s solutions
- Advise senior IT and C‑level executives within key accounts and create long‑term partnerships with customers
- Manage a complex sales cycle from prospecting to closing; maintain sustainable revenue across technologies
- Develop new solutions strategies within key accounts to establish proofs of value and guide implementations of Red Hat’s solutions
- Manage the account planning process and delivery of strategic plans
- Showcase a high level of proficiency with Red Hat Sales Cloud tooling (Salesforce CRM)
- Maintain, host and lead consistent onsite customer meetings to develop relationships and explore initiatives to develop growth solutions
- 7+ years of solutions sales experience, with 2+ of those years focused on selling directly to strategic enterprise customers.
- Solid understanding of the open source model, AI, Dev Sec Ops and IT Modernisation.
- Experience working in a consultative customer engagement with a major enterprise software company.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience presenting to C‑level executives at large companies.
- Broad understanding of the client’s acquisition and budgeting processes.
- Ability to maintain a sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings, solutions and a broad ecosystem.
- Ability to work within a complex matrixed organisation with open source community solutions.
- Proven experience to lead an extended team of technical sales associates.
- Excellent track record of forecasting accuracy.
- A highly collaborative and energetic approach to leading, guiding teams and clients in developing and executing solutions that provide realised value and benefit.
The salary range for this position is $ - $ (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission and/or equity. For positions with Remote‑US locations the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
