Retail Assistant Store Manager – Tysons Corner Center
Join us as a Retail Assistant Store Manager at Bath & Body Works, located in Tysons Corner Center. In this role you will partner with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and drive growth across the store.
Responsibilities- Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
- Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability with all associates.
- Act as manager on duty when scheduled to address customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
- Partner with sales leadership to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
- Implement and sustain floor set direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
- Perform opening and closing routines, including bank deposits, receipt of shipments, and dissemination of company directives.
- Set direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work.
- Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
- Maintain appropriate sales floor coverage to meet payroll targets and maintain a selling focus.
- Lead exceptional in‑store customer experiences through demonstration of selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and elevated product knowledge.
- Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demoing products, and making personalized recommendations.
- Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
- Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
- Maintain physically active standards: standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintaining the visual appearance of the store.
- Consistently provide a safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to all safety standards and expectations.
- Maintain the company’s values, policies, and procedures.
- Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in retail.
- Thrives in a customer‑first retail environment.
- Ability to foster a customer‑focused selling culture.
- Effective communication and adaptability skills.
- Ability to provide on‑the‑moment coaching to associates.
- Ability to de‑escalate store and customer situations effectively.
- Must be available to work peak days and times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
