Chinese Language Research Analyst

Pamir Consulting is seeking experienced Chinese Language Research Analysts to join our world-class team of China economic, policy, security, and data analysts.

As a Pamir analyst you will support the team’s work for our government and commercial clients with high-impact research, analysis, and strategic insights.

Positions are full time, located in our McLean, VA office.

• Conduct Chinese- and English-language open-source research and analysis
• Write finished intelligence reports on a variety of topics related to China
• Collect, interpret, and synthesize news media, social media, procurement, trade, commercial, and other types of data
• Produce and deliver briefing materials for clients that explain key findings and their implications

• Advanced Chinese reading skills
• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree is preferred
• Minimum of four years of research and analysis experience; experience in commercial consulting or government is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work individually or in teams
• Fluency in other language(s) is a plus
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Language abilities can be demonstrated by standardized testing scores (HSK 5 or equivalent) or by prior work experience
• Strong understanding of China’s economy, political system, military, and other issues
• Formal analytic tradecraft training
