- Administer, monitor, and maintain both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases across production and development environments
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks including backups, patches, tuning, and upgrades
- Design, implement, and optimize database schemas, stored procedures, and indexing strategies for performance and scalability
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and security
, complying with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) - Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to integrate backend data solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues
, including query optimization and locking conflicts - Implement and maintain disaster recovery and high availability solutions such as Data Guard, Always On, or failover clustering
- Create and maintain documentation related to database design, configuration, and procedures
- Strong proficiency with PL/SQL
, T-SQL
, and scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell or Bash) - Familiar with database monitoring and automation tools (e.g., OEM, SQL Server Management Studio, Redgate, Solar Winds)
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a big plus
- Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools is desirable
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to explain database concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical thinker with a commitment to best practices, quality, and continuous improvement
- Education
:
Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field; or possess an advanced degree in a related field (such as: Computer Science, IT Management, Engineering, Data Science) - Required Experience
: 6+ yrs of directly related professional work experience - Required Certifications

Oracle Certified DBA and Microsoft SQL Server Certification - Security Clearance Level
