As the Data and Compliance Manager, this pivotal leadership role marks the transition from managing individual compliance projects to overseeing a broader portfolio of work in the independence compliance department of the Forvis Mazars network. The Manager will lead a team responsible for global independence tools and data initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and the Network's long‑term goals. This includes direct oversight of individuals who support the deployment, analysis, and evolution of an independent compliance system across the organization, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, operational oversight, and people leadership.
WhatYou Will Do
- Oversee and align multiple related projects, including global independence compliance tool deployment, data quality monitoring, and KPI tracking, to drive strategic outcomes.
- Supervise and support team members such as WeCheck Support Analyst and Senior Analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback while fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
- Develop and implement procedures and protocols for roles with direct reporting responsibilities, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance across teams and projects.
- Address complex challenges related to data integrity, tool functionality, and cross‑border collaboration, applying analytical thinking to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Define clear goals and assignments for both self and team members, ensuring clarity, accountability, and alignment with broader business strategies.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments, functions and internationally, including compliance, IT, and leadership teams, initiating or contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance organizational performance and innovation.
- Lead recruitment efforts to attract, evaluate, and hire top talent for critical roles, managing the interview process and ensuring a positive candidate experience while maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, data analysis, computer science, information technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience managing cross‑functional or international teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning, organizational alignment, compliance, data governance, and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement operational protocols.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting platforms.
- Experience in a global or matrixed organization.
- Experience in a consulting or public accounting firm.
- Familiarity with compliance systems, databases, and change management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Understanding of independence standards globally.
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non‑exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and a half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility‑based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(k), bonuses, profit‑sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
