The Private Equity Value Creation team accelerates operational and financial performance across portfolio companies through targeted, execution-focused transformation. WhatYou Will Do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of value-creation engagements for private equity clients, overseeing day-to-day execution, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring outcomes drive measurable financial and operational improvements
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, facilitating clear communication, and providing trusted insight and guidance
- Independently lead multiple work streams or full engagements, conducting process interviews, current-state assessments, gap analyses, and designing pragmatic, future-state solutions aligned to private equity priorities
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable workplans, applying deep expertise across procure-to-pay (P2P), order-to-cash (O2C), and close-to-report (C2R/R2R) processes, accounting operations, and technology-enabled workflow optimization
- Evaluate and optimize financial systems and tools (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage) to enhance automation, controls, scalability, and data integrity across finance operations
- Leverage financial reporting and accounting policy expertise to design and implement practical processes and internal controls
- Support client finance teams in adopting best practices for policy adherence, workflow discipline, and cross-functional collaboration
- Oversee financial and operational analysis, including Excel-based modeling, KPI development, and value-capture assessments
- Develop and refine financial forecasts, budgets, and long-range models to support investment thesis execution and decision-making
- Execute and enhance month-end close processes, including cash-to-accrual and GAAP conversions for newly acquired or transitioning entities
- Build and standardize financial reporting packages, including board-ready monthly reporting, KPIs, and forecasting tools
- Prepare and deliver management and lender-focused reporting, including technology assessments, operating insights, and future-state roadmaps
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of all client deliverables, including process documentation, analyses, dashboards, recommendations, and operating models
- Develop and mentor team members through coaching, feedback, and technical guidance to strengthen consulting capabilities and subject-matter expertise
- Contribute to practice development by creating and refining methodologies, templates, diagnostics, and internal tools that improve delivery efficiency and consistency
- Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, participating in client discussions, and identifying opportunities to expand services across portfolio companies
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- CPA License
- Prior consulting experience
- Experience with ERP systems
Pursuant to pay transparency laws, the salary range displayed is for the markets in which this role is posted. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.

New York Maximum Salary (USD): $179,300
Illinois Minimum Salary (USD): $89,600
Illinois Maximum Salary (USD): $164,400
