The Telecommunications Engineer 3 role involves designing, coordinating, and specifying telecommunication distribution systems and infrastructure for medium to large projects.
The engineer will coordinate pathways and cabling for both indoor and outdoor plant infrastructure, produce detailed floor plans, and provide labeling and run lists to support the design process.
The designer creates project specifications for construction, materials, and testing, overseeing the project lifecycle, assisting with construction issues, scheduling, and budgeting.
Responsibilities include:
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in telecommunications infrastructure with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's, or 0+ years with a PhD in a related field.
- Motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams.
- Willing to learn new systems and technologies.
- Basic understanding of TIA standards and NFPA codes.
- Ability to pass extensive background checks.
- Must obtain BICSI RCDD certification within one year.
Desired Experience:
- BICSI RCDD certification
- Experience with CAD or BIM systems like REVIT
- Knowledge of active communication systems
- Manufacturer certifications and field experience are a plus
