SUMMARYThe successful candidate for this position will have a positive, professional demeanor, excellent
interpersonal skills and will be able to work independently. The nature of the work will require that the
candidate demonstrate initiative and responsibility and be flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid
business environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the overall operations of
the plant to include: batching concrete to meet production quotas; quality control; scheduling of personnel, equipment and raw materials; equipment trouble shooting; scheduling and assisting with plant preventative maintenance; assisting with repairs; inventory control; personnel management and
environmental compliance.
- Maintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all areas of production from manufacturing
to shipment - Performs the concrete batching operation
- Assists with the efficient plant operations related to production and scheduling, including daily plant paperwork
- Assists with the schedule and performance of production maintenance
- Assists the plant manager in maintaining proper stock inventories (raw materials,
machinery/vehicle parts, etc.) - Assists in performing required plant environmental inspections and documenting properly
- Performs air checks and moisture checks
- Makes COD deposits at bank nightly
- Assists in maintaining a clean working area
- Must be able to open, close, and work Saturdays alone
- Must be able to run front end loader and pump tankers, when needed
- Required to work a schedule that varies from week to week; long hours during peak season; and
weekends - Required to work at more than one location
- Two years related experience and/or training
- A working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systems
- An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced
- An understanding of QC/QA for the ready-mix concrete industry
- Must possess a DOT batch card or the ability to obtain one
- A working mechanical knowledge of all plant related equipment
Knowledge of production equipment, production processes and maintenance programs - A commitment to team concepts, a sense of ownership and urgency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all
managers, employees, vendors and customers
