We are seeking an imaginative, precise, and technically-oriented Manufacturing Engineer who is ready to take initiative on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This job requires great attention to detail and demands fast but carefully thought-out results. Deep knowledge and expertise are required to understand and process detailed information. The job centers around developing new ideas, systems and technology and also analyzing and improving on old processes.
A high level of expertise with a hands-on approach is needed to excel in this position. Work must be done right, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality work.
Interest and energy focus primarily on the work at hand while developing creative solutions to problems. This job requires that the ideal candidate enjoys becoming an expert on items while developing and maintaining specialty knowledge that supports the development of solutions to problems.
Reports to:
Engineering Manager
- Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes for metal stamping, fabrication, and machining operations.
- Support new product launches, including process flow, routings, work instructions, and setup documentation.
- Prepare cost estimates and quotations by analyzing blueprints, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Determine process sequences, tooling needs, and cycle times to establish accurate labor and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with sales, estimating, and management teams to provide timely and competitive quotes for new businesses.
- Evaluate material utilization, tooling design, and machine efficiency to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
- Perform time studies and capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Lead process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
- Develop plant layouts and process flow diagrams for improved workflow and material handling.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and quality teams for problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Support corrective and preventive actions related to process or quality issues.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within metal stamping, fabrication, or machining industries.
- Experience preparing cost estimates or quotes for manufactured components or assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling design, and machine setup.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar).
Experience with Master
CAM is a plus. - Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems for routings, BOMs, and cost structures. (JobBOSS preferred).
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on shop floor work with technical and cost analysis tasks.
