Coordinator I, Material
Job SummaryThe Material Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, tracking, and reporting of raw materials throughout the production process. This role ensures timely delivery of materials to production pods, accurate record‑keeping, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Material Coordinator collaborates closely with the production team to monitor material usage, waste metrics, and inventory levels, ensuring smooth production operations and improved efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate replenishment of materials to production pods, maintaining adequate stock levels to prevent disruptions in production.
- Manage inventory across various software platforms, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all data entries.
- Validate and reconcile inbound material transfers from the warehouse and other departments, confirming correct quantities, color, size, and other specifications.
- Conduct routine cycle counts and maintain accurate documentation of all inventory movements.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies in material tracking, collaborating with relevant teams.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations related to the storage and movement of raw materials.
- Track and document production waste, analyzing the data to identify patterns, trends, or anomalies, and investigate potential causes to minimize future waste.
- Communicate findings and improvement suggestions to management and the production team to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to material usage, waste, and inventory accuracy, providing regular data reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and state regulations for material storage, tracking, and movement.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in material handling and data entry.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, ERP/WMS platforms, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in material handling.
- Understanding of state and internal regulations regarding material management and storage.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control or a manufacturing environment with responsibilities for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP, WMS, or other inventory management systems.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Capable of repetitive hand and arm motions as well as extended periods of typing.
- Capable of looking at a screen for extended periods or entire shifts.
- Some travel may be required to attend cross‑functional team meetings or support product launch events.
This position is scheduled on a full‑time basis. Specific shift times and workdays are determined by the operation and may vary by location. Business needs may require work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overtime. Scheduled start and end times, assigned shifts, and workdays are subject to change based on staffing and operational requirements. Whenever feasible, advance notice of schedule changes will be provided.
