The mission of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is to promote and support a workforce system that creates value and offers employers, individuals and communities the opportunity to achieve and sustain economic prosperity. To support our mission, we are looking for a Program Support Assistant to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department team. This position is located at 3800 Paluxy Drive, Tyler, Texas.

TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

The Program Support Assistant performs advanced (senior-level) administrative support or technical program assistance work utilizing the Re Hab Works  system and other TWC automated resources. Work involves coordinating the disseminating of information, developing filing systems, and coordinating internal administrative support work. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

The ideal candidate will show a high level of accountability and responsibility with high professional standards by working as a member of the office team to foster safety and security of office staff, customers and property at the workplace.

• Assists the Deputy Regional Director (DRD) and the Program Support Manager (PSM) in administration of the Region's Vocational Rehabilitation Program budgets, grants and contracts.
• Researches and analyzes statistical data.
• Dispatches customer and provider inquiries for response.
• Develops and maintains tracking systems for the program support team.
• Coordinates performance appraisal systems with the PSM.
