- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Learn About a Day in the Life of a Med-Surg RN:
- Coordinates and administers care to a unit-specific patient population utilizing a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or condition.
- Provides clinical supervision to the clinical, professional, and auxiliary staff to ensure the continuous delivery of quality patient care.
- Works cooperatively with appropriate medical staff to ensure accomplishment of hospital and departmental goals.
- Manages departmental activities in accordance with hospital and departmental policy and ensures that care is delivered consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols.
- Oversees the implementation of a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
Job Requirements:
- Degree as a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Texas RN License.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- ACLS required within 6 months of employment.
Job Requirements:
- Two years of inpatient/acute care nursing experience.
- One Year of Charge Nurse experience.
