  • This position is located in the new Medical Education Building (MEB).
  • UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
  • Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility for the human and fiscal resources available in order to provide quality, cost‑effective patient‑centered care.
  • The Charge Nurse will possess and have the capabilities to perform all the major duties and critical tasks of a Registered Nurse.
  • The Charge Nurse will demonstrate honesty, integrity, respectfulness, discretion, responsibility and dependability.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the facility.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
  • Must possess and maintain a current RN license to practice in Texas.
  • At least one (1) year RN experience in a clinic environment.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • EMR experience.

Preferred

Job Requirements:

  • Specialty certification, such as Ambulatory Care Nurse, preferred at hire and preferred within 12 months of eligibility.
  • Five (5) years RN experience.
  • At least two (2) years RN experience as a charge nurse or supervisor.
  • Bilingual.
